Why Digital Literacy
Digital Literacy is the foundation for learning and personal growth. It opens doors to knowledge, builds confidence for scholars to participate meaningfully in society. Yet, many schools in rural Ghana struggle to provide scholars with the resources and support they need to develop strong digital literacy skills.
Through our partnership, SmartKids Ghana is committed to bridging this gap by delivering a comprehensive digital literacy education program tailored to the needs of the Esaase Methodist school.
The SmartKids Ghana Digital Literacy Approach
Teacher Training in Technology Integration
Teachers are at the forefront of this initiative. SmartKids Ghana is providing professional development workshops to empower educators with strategies for integrating technology into classroom teaching,tools to facilitate interactive lessons using digital platforms, and training in basic coding.
Access to Digital Tools and Resources
As part of the partnership, Esaase Methodist Primary School is going to have access to: Laptops tailored for scholars’ use and digital learning software focused on digital literacy skills.
Student-Centered Learning Programs
Our digital literacy curriculum is hands-on, ensuring scholars gain practical skills in typing and basic computer navigation, Introduction to coding and programming through child-friendly platforms like Scratch.
