SmartKids Ghana is excited to introduce Krishiv Sonthalia, a rising junior at Portola High School, who is joining our team of Zoom Teachers this year.
Krishiv has a strong background in tutoring and service. He previously volunteered with KidWorks, a nonprofit where he tutored underprivileged children and even designed personalized study plans to support their learning. His experiences there taught him not only the value of education but also the importance of patience, adaptability, and building confidence in students.
But Krishiv’s commitment to service goes far beyond the classroom. His passion for helping others inspired him to start a volunteering club at his school and lead a city-wide food drive, which successfully raised over two tons of food for the homeless. Now, he’s ready to take that same energy and dedication global by supporting scholars in Ghana through teaching and mentoring.
“I want to be a Zoom Teacher because education is one of the most powerful tools to make a meaningful difference,” Krishiv shares. “I’ve been fortunate to have access to resources, and I feel strongly about giving back to scholars who may not have the same opportunities. SmartKids Ghana gives me the chance to extend that impact across the world.”
In addition to teaching, Krishiv is also stepping up as a Student Ambassador, taking on the $250 fundraising challenge. These funds provide essential support such as transportation, logistics, and classroom resources for our scholars. Krishiv has fully embraced this responsibility, knowing that every contribution helps create opportunities for students to thrive.
We’re thrilled to welcome Krishiv to the SmartKids Ghana family. His passion for service, leadership experience, and heart for education are sure to make a lasting impact on the lives of our scholars.
