SmartKids Ghana is excited to welcome Robin Lartey, a dedicated high school senior from Riverside High School, to our team of Zoom Teachers.
Robin brings an incredible mix of experience, passion, and heart to our scholars. As a proud member of the National Honor Society, Robin has spent time tutoring peers in Algebra 2, learning how to simplify complex concepts and make them easier to understand. Beyond tutoring, Robin has also worked for the past two years in his school’s Early Childhood Program, where she teaches, observes, grades other teachers, and creates engaging classroom lessons. These opportunities have helped her discover that patience, clear communication, and taking time to explain thoroughly can make all the difference in a child’s learning.
For Robin, becoming a Zoom Teacher with SmartKids Ghana is more than just teaching it’s personal. With family roots in Accra, Ghana, Robin sees this as a way to connect with her home away from home while giving back to scholars who remind her of the community she belongs to.
“This experience lets me use the skills I’ve built in tutoring and early education, while also helping children in Ghana grow in knowledge and confidence. It’s also a chance for me to strengthen my teaching abilities and show my love for working with kids and supporting communities,” Robin shares.
In addition to teaching, Robin is also taking on the ambassador fundraising challenge. Each Zoom teacher has a fundraising goal of $250 that supports transportation, logistics, and learning resources for scholars. Robin has embraced this responsibility, knowing that every contribution helps create opportunities for scholars who deserve the best education possible.
We’re thrilled to have Robin on board! With her teaching experience, passion for education, and deep connection to Ghana, we know she will inspire our scholars and bring learning to life each Saturday on Zoom.
