Spotlight: Grey Zimmerman – Newest Zoom Teacher

We are excited to introduce Grey Zimmerman, a 9th-grade student at Concord Carlisle High School, as one of the newest Zoom teachers joining SmartKids Ghana.

Although Grey does not have prior teaching or tutoring experience, what stands out is his genuine passion for education and his desire to give back. He recognizes the importance of creating opportunities for students who may not have access to the same educational tools and resources that others do.

When asked why he wanted to become a Zoom teacher with SmartKids Ghana, Grey shared:

“I think that it is very important to teach others, especially those that don’t have access to the types of opportunities that I have. The mission statement of SmartKids Ghana is incredibly meaningful. I believe that everyone, no matter where you come from, should have access to 21st-century skills. Lack of educational tools and resources is a tremendous problem and one that is not easily eliminated. However, I want to try to help in any way that I can. I would love to be a part of this meaningful organization.”

Grey’s commitment to stepping into a teaching role despite being new to tutoring reflects the spirit of SmartKids Ghana where the drive to serve and support others is what matters most. His willingness to share knowledge and connect with students across borders highlights the power of youth leadership in shaping a brighter future for all.

We are delighted to have Grey on our teaching team and look forward to seeing the difference he will make in the lives of our scholars.
