Education is one of the most powerful gifts we can share and for Sara Zaimi, a senior at Bishop Fenwick High School, that belief is at the heart of everything she does. As one of SmartKids Ghana’s newest volunteer Zoom Teachers, Sara brings passion, intellect, and a deep sense of purpose to her mission of making education more accessible and inspiring for children across Ghana.
Sara’s journey as a teacher began close to home, where she tutored underclassmen in English and Physics, helping them understand challenging concepts with patience and clarity. Her ability to explain ideas simply while keeping learning engaging quickly set her apart as both a talented tutor and a natural leader. These early experiences sparked something profound in her love for helping others discover the same excitement she feels when learning something new.
Beyond the classroom, Sara has also gained valuable experience teaching and presenting in virtual settings. During a Pre-Med course with Harvard University’s Student Agency, she presented research on biochemistry and disease over Zoom, an experience that strengthened her communication skills and confidence in sharing knowledge with others. That experience not only deepened her scientific understanding but also affirmed her desire to teach and inspire beyond borders.
“I want to be a Zoom teacher because I have a passion for learning and an infinite desire for knowledge,” Sara explains. “My goal in life is to share the joy of education, especially with children, since I think they are the biggest gift on this Earth. Being able to make even a small impact in their lives would be such an honor.”
Sara’s words reflect the very spirit of SmartKids Ghana young people using their talents and compassion to make meaningful contributions to the lives of others. As she joins our global network of student ambassadors and educators, her enthusiasm for learning and her genuine care for children remind us all that education is not just about information it’s about inspiration.
