Last Saturday’s Zoom session with SmartKids Ghana was nothing short of exciting, engaging, and deeply impactful. The topic for the day was under Critical Thinking and Problem Solving using Riddles turned out to be one of the most interactive and enjoyable sessions our scholars have experienced so far.
From the very beginning of the class, the energy was high. Scholars were eager, attentive, and ready to challenge their minds. What started as a simple introduction to riddles quickly evolved into a lively learning experience filled with curiosity, laughter, and “aha!” moments.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
The goal of the session was to help scholars develop essential life skills such as logical reasoning, creativity, and analytical thinking. Through carefully selected riddles, students were encouraged to think outside the box, explore multiple possibilities, and work through problems step by step.
Rather than simply giving answers, facilitators guided scholars through the process of reasoning teaching them how to think, not just what to think. This approach helped learners build confidence in their own ideas and problem-solving abilities.
The Role Of Our Ghanaian Student Ambassadors
A major highlight of the session was the incredible support from our Ghanaian student ambassadors, who played a key role throughout the lesson.
They assisted in engaging the scholars, encouraging participation, and helping explain concepts where needed. Their presence added warmth, relatability, and encouragement, making the scholars feel more comfortable and motivated to participate actively. Their dedication is a powerful reminder of the heart behind SmartKids Ghana young leaders investing their time and energy to uplift and inspire younger learners.
Scholars Fully Engaged And Excited
One of the most beautiful parts of the session was seeing how much the scholars loved the riddles. Every question sparked excitement, and every correct answer was met with cheers and encouragement.

Even when answers were incorrect, the scholars remained enthusiastic, proving that they are learning to embrace challenges and enjoy the process of thinking critically.
Despite the heavy rainfall that Saturday, the lesson was still incredibly successful and exciting. The weather did not dampen the energy in the room or the commitment of the scholars and facilitators. Instead, it made the experience even more memorable, as everyone stayed engaged, focused, and fully present throughout the session. Moments like these show that learning is most powerful when it is fun, interactive, and student-centered.
Building Future Problem Solvers
Sessions like this are at the core of SmartKids Ghana’s mission: to equip young learners with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Critical thinking is not just an academic skill, it is a life skill. By introducing scholars to problem-solving activities early, we are helping them become more confident, independent thinkers who are prepared for future challenges.
A Big Thank You
