Esaase Scholars: From Curiosity to Confidence

Transforming Learning at Esaase: How SmartKids Ghana is Shaped Future Innovators

When the SmartKids Ghana Program first arrived at Esaase, few could have imagined how quickly curiosity would turn into confidence. Within just a few months, students who had never touched a laptop were typing, creating stories, and connecting with teachers from across the globe.

Today, the classroom in Esaase hums with excitement. Laughter mixes with the clicking of keyboards. Teachers shared lessons through Zoom, guided scholars through problem-solving activities and encouraged them to think creatively about how technology can help their community.

“We’ve seen an incredible transformation,” says a teacher at Esaase School. “The children are eager to learn, and their confidence has grown tremendously.”

Through donor support, SmartKids Ghana provided laptops, internet access, challenging curriculums and engaging online lessons that have opened doors to new worlds of learning. The scholars gained critical thinking and problem- solving skills, developed in STEM, English, Health and Digital Literacy.

The program’s success at Esaase has become a model for our next expansion at Kyerekrom Basic School, where more children will gain the same opportunities to learn and thrive.

To sustain and expand this impact, we aim to:

  • Provide more laptops and internet access for rural classrooms.
  • Train local teachers in digital learning methods.
  • Establish a community learning hub where children can access technology after school hours.

Each step forward begins with people like you; donors, student ambassadors and partners who believe that every child deserves a chance to learn in the digital age.

Together, we’re building a future where a child’s potential is never limited by where they are born.
