At SmartKids Ghana, we believe that some of the most meaningful journeys begin with a simple decision to serve. For Camille Yanofsky, a student at Bishop Fenwick High School and a member of the Class of 2027, that decision is rooted in a desire to make a lasting difference while growing as a leader herself.

Camille was inspired to become a Zoom Teacher after hearing the experiences of friends who have volunteered with SmartKids Ghana. Their stories of building connections with scholars, creating engaging lessons, and witnessing the excitement of children eager to learn showed her that this program is about far more than teaching, it is about changing lives through education and encouragement.

Motivated by those experiences, Camille decided she wanted to be part of something meaningful. She sees this opportunity as a chance to dedicate her time to a cause that truly matters while stepping outside her comfort zone and embracing new challenges. For her, volunteering is not only about giving back; it is also about growing personally, developing leadership skills, and discovering the impact one young person can have on the lives of others.

Camille has a genuine passion for learning and believes that education has the power to inspire confidence, spark curiosity, and open doors to new opportunities. Through the Zoom Teaching Program, she hopes to share that passion with scholars in Ghana by creating a classroom environment where learning is both engaging and encouraging.
