Meet Nicolas Arias: A Young Leader Committed To Empowering Scholars Through Education

At SmartKids Ghana, we believe that meaningful change begins with people who are willing to serve. Every Student Ambassador brings a unique story, passion, and purpose, and we are excited to welcome Nicolas Arias as one of our newest Zoom Teachers.

Nicolas is an 11th-grade student at ICL Academy with a heart for helping others. Although this will be his first experience serving as a teacher or tutor, his enthusiasm for education and his desire to make a difference demonstrate that leadership is not measured by experience alone, it is measured by the willingness to step forward and serve.

When asked why he wanted to become a Zoom Teacher with SmartKids Ghana, Nicolas shared a simple yet powerful vision:

“I want to be a Zoom teacher with SmartKids Ghana because I enjoy helping others learn and making a positive difference. I think every child deserves the chance to learn, no matter where they live. This is a great opportunity for me to share what I know, connect with students from another country, and grow as a leader while helping others.”

Those words reflect the very heart of SmartKids Ghana. Education has the power to transform lives, and Nicolas understands that every lesson taught has the potential to inspire confidence, curiosity, and hope in a young scholar.

What makes Nicolas’ journey especially meaningful is that he is stepping outside of his comfort zone. While he has not previously volunteered as a teacher or tutor, he has chosen to embrace this opportunity with courage and an open mind. His willingness to learn, grow, and serve is exactly what makes great educators and future leaders.

As a Student Ambassador, Nicolas will not only deliver engaging lessons to scholars in Ghana but will also develop valuable skills in communication, leadership, public speaking, and cross-cultural collaboration. Through each Zoom session, he will gain real-world teaching experience while making a lasting impact on the lives of young learners.

His decision to volunteer is a reminder that creating change doesn’t always require years of experience. Sometimes, it simply begins with a compassionate heart and a desire to help others succeed. We are incredibly excited to have Nicolas join the SmartKids Ghana family and look forward to watching him grow throughout this journey. We know he will inspire our scholars just as much as they will inspire him.

Welcome to SmartKids Ghana, Nicolas. Thank you for choosing to invest your time, talents, and passion in empowering the next generation. We can’t wait to see the difference you’ll make, one lesson, one scholar, and one smile at a time.
