At just 15 years old, Hossam already knows what it means to show up for others. Now, he’s bringing that same heart to the classrooms of SmartKids Ghana. Some people talk about making a difference, Hossam Hejazi actually does it. As a 10th grader at Al Noor Academy and a dedicated volunteer at his local Islamic Saturday School, Hossam has already built something rare in someone his age, a genuine, practiced relationship with the act of teaching children. That sentence, simple and honest, tells you everything you need to know about Hossam. He doesn’t seek applause. He seeks purpose and he finds it in the faces of young students who light up when something finally clicks.
WHY SMARTKIDS GHANA
When Hossam decided to join SmartKids Ghana as both a Student Ambassador and a Zoom Teacher, it wasn’t a leap into the unknown. It was a natural extension of who he already is. Having spent time nurturing young minds in his community, he understood immediately that geography should never be a barrier to quality education. Across the screen, across the miles, a child in Ghana deserves the same spark of inspiration as a child sitting right in front of you.
WHAT MAKES HIM DIFFERENT
In a world where many young people are still figuring out their place, Hossam already volunteers, already teaches, and already leads. His experience at the Islamic Saturday School has sharpened his patience, his communication, and his deep understanding that every child learns differently. He doesn’t just show up, he shows up prepared, compassionate, and ready to adapt. These are not skills you can teach overnight.
LOOKING AHEAD
As he steps into his new role with SmartKids Ghana, Hossam carries with him something no curriculum can fully capture, the genuine desire to see another human being grow. That quiet, steady, and powerful is exactly what our scholars need, and exactly what Hossam brings. We are incredibly proud and honored to welcome him to the SmartKids Ghana family. The scholars are lucky to have him. And so are we.
Welcome, Hossam. You are already more than ready and our scholars can’t wait to learn from you.
