For Ruqaya Ali, education is not simply about academics, it is about empowerment, opportunity, and helping students discover the potential that already exists within them. As a student at Westborough High School, Class of 2027, Ruqaya carries a deep passion for learning and an equally strong desire to help others gain access to the same opportunities that education can provide.

What inspired Ruqaya to become a Zoom Teacher with SmartKids Ghana is her belief that learning should never be limited by location or circumstance. She understands that around the world, there are countless students with incredible potential who simply need encouragement, guidance, and access to quality education to help them thrive.

Ruqaya was especially drawn to SmartKids Ghana’s mission of using technology to provide high-quality education to scholars through Zoom. To her, the ability to connect with and teach students across the world is both meaningful and powerful. It represents the idea that education can break barriers, bridge distances, and create life-changing opportunities for children no matter where they live.

At the heart of Ruqaya’s passion is her desire to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident enough to ask questions, explore ideas, and believe in themselves. She understands that sometimes all a child needs is someone who is patient, encouraging, and willing to invest in them. Through teaching, she hopes to inspire students not only academically, but personally as well.

What makes Ruqaya’s story especially impactful is her genuine love for learning and her willingness to share that passion with others. She sees teaching as more than delivering lessons, it is about building connections, inspiring confidence, and helping students realize that their dreams and goals are possible.

For Ruqaya, becoming a Zoom Teacher is also an opportunity to grow as a leader and global citizen.
