Taking Our Mission Beyond Ashanti: SmartKids Ghana Comes to Dzoborve

A New Community. A New Chapter. A Bigger Vision.

For years, SmartKids Ghana has been working to create meaningful learning opportunities for children across communities in the Ashanti Region. Now, we are taking an important step forward.

This September, our teaching program is coming to Dzoborve in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region, where we will teach 30 students over six weeks. This marks more than just the beginning of another teaching cohort, it is a milestone for SmartKids Ghana and the first step toward expanding our educational programs beyond the Ashanti Region and, ultimately, across Ghana.

A Community That Believes in Education

Our journey to Dzoborve has been made even more special by the incredible generosity of the community’s traditional leader, TOGBE YELU KETENI VI, who has gifted SmartKids Ghana land in Dzoborve to build a future learning center back in 2024. Togbe Yelu Keteni VI, Stool Member of the Divisional Chief Tsiala Clan and Ngorgbefiaga of the Agave Traditional Area, is a respected traditional leader whose humility, warmth, and commitment to the well-being of his community are truly inspiring. He is a thoughtful and approachable leader who understands that the strength of a community lies in investing in its people, especially its children and young people. His willingness to listen, encourage meaningful initiatives, and support efforts that create opportunities for future generations reflects a deep sense of service and community spirit. His generous gift of land to SmartKids Ghana to establish a learning center in Dzogbove is a beautiful expression of these values. We are honored by his trust in our vision and grateful for his belief that education and access to technology can help transform the lives of children and strengthen the community for generations to come.

We are deeply grateful to TOGBE YELU KETENI VI for believing in our mission and, most importantly, for thinking about the educational future of the children in his community. His generosity is a powerful reminder that when community leaders, organizations, donors, and individuals come together, we can create opportunities that extend far beyond one generation. We need more people like TOGBE YELU KETENI VI, people who believe that investing in education is investing in the future of their communities.

Six Weeks of Learning and Opportunity

Over the next six weeks, 30 students in Dzoborve will participate in lessons designed to build skills beyond the traditional classroom. Through our teaching program, students will explore areas including Technology literacy, health literacy and entrepreneurial skills. For us, this is just the beginning.

Our vision is to reach more children in more communities across Ghana, creating spaces where young people can learn, grow, develop confidence, and imagine possibilities beyond what they see around them.

Help Us Make Dzoborve a Success

Expanding beyond the Ashanti Region is an exciting milestone, but it also comes with new responsibilities. We need the support of donors, ambassadors, partners, and friends of SmartKids Ghana to make this program successful and to continue building toward a permanent learning center in Dzogbove.
