Alumni Giving Circle

Sadie Saarony (Club President):

Sadie Saarony is a senior at Buckingham Browne & Nichols high school in Cambridge, Massachusetts and President of the Alumni Ambassador Circle. She has also been working with Smart Kids Ghana for the past two years, supporting educational initiatives and community programs abroad.

 

Mark Peña (Vice President):

Mark Peña is an IB Diploma Candidate at Newark Academy. He is also the first-ever Student Ambassador at Smart Kids Ghana, where he pioneered the Ambassador Program and currently serves as a teacher, Zoom Coordinator, and Vice President of the Alumni Club. Mark is one of two selected students serving on Newark Academy’s Curriculum Committee. His advocacy work includes receiving a Gold Key Scholastic Art and Writing Award for a critical essay analyzing the historical landscape of abortion legislation. Additionally, Mark is a State Certified and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad and West Essex First Aid Squad, providing medical care and transporting patients across six towns serving over 60,000 residents.

 

Saira Lange (Secretary):

Saira Lange, a senior at Belmont High School in Belmont, Massachusetts, has been involved with Smart Kids Ghana for two years, supporting the organization with logistics and teaching students over Zoom during the summer as an intern.

 

Habiba Fikry (Finance Associate):

Habiba Fikry is a student at Burlington High School, and has worked alongside SmartKids Ghana for about a year as a zoom teacher, fundraiser, shipping coordinator, and finance associate.
