She’s in 9th grade, full of warmth, and already thinking beyond herself. Linta Mannan is joining SmartKids Ghana and she’s bringing every bit of her energy with her. There’s something quietly extraordinary about a young person who, in the middle of navigating high school life, chooses to look outward. Linta Mannan, a 9th grader at Burlington High School, is exactly that kind of person. She didn’t wait until she had a degree or a title to decide she wanted to help. She simply followed her heart and her heart led her straight to SmartKids Ghana.
“I would love to be a Zoom teacher with SmartKids Ghana because I feel it’s an amazing opportunity and I also love kids”. In those words lives something real. No rehearsed answer, no polished script, just genuine enthusiasm and a love for children that you simply cannot fake. And in the world of education, that authenticity is everything.
A TWO-WAY JOURNEY
What sets Linta apart is her beautiful awareness that teaching is never a one-way street. She comes into this role not just to give, but to grow openly acknowledging that this experience will be a positive learning opportunity for her as well. That kind of humility and openness is rare, and it is exactly the mindset that makes someone a truly impactful teacher.
WHAT SHE BRINGS
Enthusiasm is contagious. When a teacher is genuinely excited to be in the room, students feel it and they rise to meet it. Linta brings that energy naturally. Her warmth, her love for children, and her eagerness to be part of something bigger than herself make her not just a welcome addition to the SmartKids Ghana team, but an invaluable one. Every scholar she connects with over Zoom will see, on the other side of that screen, someone who truly cares. And sometimes, that is the most powerful lesson of all.
LOOKING AHEAD
Linta is just getting started. As she grows through this experience learning, teaching, and connecting across continents, we have no doubt that she will leave a lasting impression on every scholar she meets. The best teachers don’t just impart knowledge. They ignite something. And Linta? She’s already lit up.
Welcome to the family, Linta. Our scholars are in wonderful hands and we are so proud to have you on this journey with us.
